There are plenty of uplifting Race for Life events around the country – and the Race for Life Hull 10k is no different. The course starts and finishes in the city centre. This 10k is set right at the centre of Steel City, incorporating the famous Sheffield hills – but don’t worry, it’s not too challenging.

If you’re in Yorkshire and the Humber and hungry for a 10k, there’s plenty to choose from across the county here, too. The event starts and finishes at Brunton Park Football Stadium, the home of Carlisle United. You can take in the city landmarks on the Carlisle 10k’s fast, flat course. There’s also a 5k fun run with this event, so one to do if you’ve got different levels of ability among family, friends or fellow runners. On the Blackpool Music Run, you’re encouraged to ‘embrace the music’ along the route which takes you on the promenade. The route takes you around the rainy city – and is at the same time as the half marathon, so if you enjoy there’s always a different challenge. The Great Manchester Run is a day of guaranteed fantastic atmosphere. If you’re in the North West and looking for your next 10k charity challenge, we’ve got a list here for you to choose from. The Matfen 10k loops around the scenic village of Matfen, Northumberland. It’s a fast, flat course perfect for setting personal bests and the event has several distances to choose from if you run and want a different challenge. The Sunderland City 10k was first held back in 2011 with 1500 participants – and has grown ever since. It’s a race with a lot of support and a ‘party atmosphere’ – so you’ll be buoyed up the race round! The Great North 10k is a fast run which takes racers along the River Tyne. First up, we’ve got the 10ks near you schedule for North East England – including the Great North 10k.
